From searching through the hundreds of available bands for our wedding, AKA stood above and beyond - the energy, the smiles, the music - and they didn't disappoint.
A small wedding of close family and friends, we were concerned about filling the dancefloor, but with AKA I don't think it was ever empty.
Matt was great with communicating prior to booking and before the day, ensuring everything was ready and planned. Despite a last-minute hitch of Matt not being able to make it on the day, he arranged a great stand-in and all went well.
The band played a song of our choice for our first dance, and playlists of our choice for inbetween their live sets.
Seonaid is great with the vocals, and the band chose their set of songs brilliantly, instilling their energy into them to keep everybody dancing all night.
I hope the band enjoyed the day as much as everybody else did, and I'm sorry I didn't get more time to speak to them all.
We'd definitely use AKA again.

We had AKA play at our wedding a couple of weeks ago and our guests are still talking about how brilliant they were! They were by far the icing on the cake on our big day!
We booked an acoustic duo to play during our drinks reception and it really did set the perfect mood for our day.
They performed our first dance song which was so special and as soon as the guests could get on the dance floor, they did and stayed there all night. There was not one moment the dance floor wasn't packed.
We couldn't recommend these guys enough! True professionals from start to finish and so organised and helpful. We will defiantly be booking them again soon for the next big family event!

Absolutely brilliant, can't speak highly enough of this band. From performing our first dance which was special to getting everyone up and dancing. I've never been to a function or party where the dance floor was full from the first song but these guys did it.
We still have people a week and a half after our wedding eulogising about how good the band were.
Would recommend them to anyone for anything.

We chose the four piece electric band and they were really good, including doing our first dance song, and they really got the crowd going. We had a lot of compliments from our guests, and the manned DJ option was really great in helping the evening flow and allowing guests to contribute as well. Cannot fault them and would highly recommend them to anyone, and they were reasonably priced to boot.

Matt & the band played at our wedding celebration and were AMAZING. They brought so much energy to the set. All of our guests went absolutely nuts dancing. They constructed the setlist around our tastes, and played some more alternative numbers from our list that we really appreciated. It really made the night for us.

They were also super flexible, happy to adapt to our schedule at the last minute as timings changed. Matt was attentive and responsive in the run-up to the big day, which really put our minds at ease.

AKA were not our first choice, but due to COVID-19 causing date changes Matt suggested his band AKA, and oh wow weren’t they fantastic, we would recommend anyone looking for a band to make AKA your first choice!

AKA played at our wedding on the 27th August 2021 at New Place Hotel and our guests are still commenting on how amazing they were, not just the music but the energy they performed with; including seeing Seonaid joining us on the dancefloor! AKA sang our first dance beautifully and continued to keep our guests of all ages on the dancefloor for the entire evening with their variety of songs constructed from our music tastes.

Matt and the band were highly professional, attentive, and responsive in the lead up to the wedding and arrived with plenty of time on the wedding day to set up, preventing any unnecessary stress. Matt was very helpful and accommodating while we were planning our wedding. Meaning we knew that the evening entertainment would be great and that we didn’t need to worry about it.
On the night they were fantastic, Matt arrived in plenty of time (as he said he would) and the band got everything set up ready. The music was brilliant and they got everyone up and dancing. AKA played for our wedding’s evening reception and were amazing! The whole set up with fairy lights created a great atmosphere from the very start and every song was brilliant – you got (and kept!) people on the dance floor all night, which is exactly what we wanted. We had so much fun dancing to the songs we, and our friends and family, love, played by you all so brilliantly. An extra thank you also for playing our first dance, not in your usual repertoire, which made it so much more special than just having a recording. We can’t say thank you enough – we had so much fun!

From the moment they got in touch to discuss playlists and requirements to the clearing away at the end of the night!! They really played to the crowd and we’re happy to gauge the mood on the night and equally happy to play requested songs and playlists. They were very reassuring in the lead up to the party and the birthday girl loved dancing away to some classics through the decades! I would definitely recommend and use for future events.

Thank you for everything. Everyone we’ve spoken to thought the music in church was spot on, it was just a shame we didn’t get a chance to see it! Brilliant sets from these guys at our wedding a couple of weeks ago. Our guests are still talking about it! Set up well before they needed to, great musicianship, extensive repertoire and were thoroughly professional throughout. Communication from Matt in the lead up to the day was very welcome, and put our minds at ease. Kept our guests dancing all night, both during the live sets and the DJ sets in between. Wow, what can I say?! In short Matt and the rest of the AKA band are truly amazing. They provided the live entertainment at our charity Summer ball and it was the best decision I made.
The fantastic communication, top organisation and speedy setup took away the stress pre-event. On the night the band were fantastic, helped me with using the microphones for speeches etc and then set the dance floor alight with the non-stop tunes. We were begging them not to stop even when the venue was closing!
