Morden Hall
Morden Hall is one of those wedding venues that could so easily get missed. Set in the National Trust's Morden Park, this wedding venue boasts some of the best green spaces and outdoor reception areas that you could ever dream of for your wedding day. When you combine this with a stunning dining hall, elegant gravel driveway and cozy party room, this stunning venue really does have it all.
Evening Party Vibes
When we play at Morden Hall, the band can either set up in the Willow Room set within the main house or can be staged in the main Mulberry Suite. The size of the band that you choose will largely determine which space we use, but for smaller ensembles, Willow works really well and gives a much more intimate vibe. For larger band sizes and for those who want a big impact, placing the band in the Mulberry Suite is the way to go.
The Willow Room gives plenty of room for dancing, and with the double doors leading straight out onto the lawns and gardens, this is one of the best places to put the band for long summer evenings.
The added advantage of using the Willow Room for your evening party and the dance floor is that it can be set up, sound checked, and made ready for you whilst you are eating. This means that there is less disruption to the day and we work with the venue to make sure that we aren't making any noise during your speeches, and ensuring that everything is as smooth as possible and we get to your first dance and live performances as soon as possible. This is not always so easy in the Mulberry Suite, where we will need at least an hour to turn the room around from an elegant dining room to a party venue. Don't be put off however, everything is possible and we are masters of logistics.
How long does the band perform for at Morden Hall?
AKA will play for 2 hours which can be divided into 2 x 60-minute sets, or 3 x 40-minute live performances depending on how your evening party will work. the question is what will happen when the band are taking a short break between their live sets? AKA come fully equipped with great party playlists that are created with the sole purpose of keeping your dance floor full. the only problem with this is that it can't be changed on the night. What we suggest is to add our manned DJ service to coincide with the band's sets. This works just like a normal DJ, with the ability to take requests from your guests and adapting the playlist to the partygoers on the dance floor, and even better takes up no additional space!
When it comes to picking the songs you want to hear from the band, make sure you take a look through AKA's huge repertoire and drop us a message if there is a particular track you'd love to hear but can't see on the list. We'll make sure it is there for you, along with all the other live party anthems that a good wedding can't do without!
How the make the most of music for your ceremony and drinks reception at Morden Hall...
Morden Hall has 2 spaces for your wedding ceremony. If you are planning to have a smaller, more intimate ceremony with just nearest and dearest, Hawthorn is a perfect choice. It has a capacity of up to 70 guests and is situated on the first floor of the house overlooking the gardens. Live music works a treat here as the acoustics of the room are brilliant. The only thing that you need to think about with live music is that if. you are using AKA's acoustic duo or the instrumental guitar duo, they will need time to move from your ceremony location to your drinks reception area. With AKA this isn't too much hassle as we use a small portable sound system that can be picked up with one hand so we can move with you pretty quickly making us one of the favoured live bands for hire.
If you are having a larger wedding ceremony, Willow is the better choice. With space for up to 120 guests this is the larger of the spaces, but again is perfect for some live music. this is also on the ground floor, and makes for moving your choice of musicians to your drinks reception even easier.
